"If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and heal their land."  (II Chron. 7:14)

There is Still Hope!!

Reaching This Generation With a Message of Hope!

REVIVAL UPDATE  is a Weekly Update of Meetings, Decisions, Prayer Requests, etc.

Update: November 30, 2010  7:00 pm (EDT)
It has been quite a while since my last update. Wow, how time flies!!!! God has been so good. In spite of the slow start at the beginning of the year, due to sickness, this year is finishing up as the best year since going back into Evangelism almost 7 years ago. So many doors have opened and so  many great things have happened, time and space will not permit us to tell it all, but I will try to hit the highlights.
Nathan Crawley, a young preacher from Alabama,  is working hard driving and helping me as we travel across the country. We have traveled through and preached in over 20 states this year. We have seen many souls saved. The youth rallies went very well even though some of  them I could not attend.
Our church meetings have been the best ever! This Fall, almost every meeting we were in could have gone into extra weeks if the Lord would have allowed it. I mean the power of God moved so strong in these meetings. I can honestly say my faith has been strengthened. We just finished a 5 week meeting in S. Ohio. God literally changed a church and a pastor and his family. We saw the hand of God light fires in the hearts of his people and for that I am so grateful.
I have been praying for God to get me back in that 'gear' of revival. I wanted to see a meeting break open and cause me to have to change my plans and stay in town for extra weeks and He did! It was probably one of the truest and purest church revival I have been a part of.
We are winding down 2010 and our meetings. I am leaving in a couple days for my last road trip for this year. We will be in Missouri and Oklahoma for 10 days and then I will be home for the holidays. I am preaching each Sunday but close to home.
As we look into 2011, the year is almost full. We have Voice of Hope Youth Rallies planned again for the Spring. We will do 7 or 8 Saturday night rallies. We also are going to Tanzania, Africa in June for a 15 day trip. We will be training pastors and preaching in various churches. Then we will do a city-wide evangelistic crusade in the 2nd largest city in Tanzania. This marks our return to the foreign field. It has been a while. The Lord seems to be leading to do these type of meetings again and if He allows, we will be scheduling at least one of these each year.
We are also working with some church planters in hopes of helping to encourage those men in areas where strong Independent Baptist Churches are needed. We also are praying about doing some "tent" meetings again. We would have to start all over with purchasing equipment. It is a big step so I need God's wisdom.
As for my health, I am doing well. My encounter with H1N1 almost took me to heaven. Thank God He allowed me to stay and serve Him here. All seems to be well and there was no damage to heart or lungs, though I was out of commission for about 4 1/2 months. I still live with severe back  pain daily, but God's grace has been sufficient.
The family is doing well. We gained our first "grandson" into the family in September. Marcey (our 2nd daughter) and her husband Brian, had little boy Rylan. Now we have 5 grandchildren, 4 girls and 1 boy. They are precious and I am truly blessed.
I hope you will continue to pray for us and stay in touch with us. We need God to raise up some more supporters. WE are about 20 churches short of the support we need at the present. As we venture into the foreign field and if things continue to cost more, we will need more down the road. Just pray that God will burden preachers and churches to rise to the occasion and help us to meet this need.
I hope to see you somewhere along the journey. Pray for my family. Pray for  me and my wife. Pray for good health. Pray for my preacher boy, Nathan as he drives me all over the country and trains to hopefully take over Voice of Hope after God is through with me. Most of all, pray for Revival in America.
I still believe there is hope!!!
God bless you all. I love you and will see you either here, there or in the air!
Your Servant,
Bro. David Harrison

Update: June 2, 2010  4:00 pm (EST)
I have been enjoying being at home for the last week. My assistant and driver Nathan and I returned home on Friday night, May 21st after being on the road for more than 7 weeks. We covered 16 states and traveled over 7500 miles and I preached 45 times. WE saw several saved and many decisions made by Christians. Preachers were helped and encouraged. All in all it was absolutely a great trip and some of the best meetings I have been in since going back into evangelism.
I got to meet lots of new people and make many new friends. I guess the highlight of the trip was to the Rio Grande Valley in Southern Texas. We held a 3 day meeting at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. On Wed. of the meeting, we had a preacher's meeting for the purpose of organizing an annual meeting in that area. Next year, we are going to moderate the first annual Rio Grande Valley Campmeeting and Jubilee. The folks are so excited. I have to admit that I am too! It has great potential to do more than just encourage the preachers and their members. It has potential to help spark the flames of revival and that could literally change the spiritual landscape for that part of America as well as Mexico.
I have so many things to write about but space and time will not permit. I just want to express my gratitude to God for his allowing me to get back on the road after being out for so long with the H1N1. I am still dealing with some "after effects" in my lungs and voice. God has given grace to sustain me through it all. He has met all my needs and for than I am truly thankful.
There are so many doors that are opening. Next year we plan to go back into the Foreign Crusades with plans being made for Philippines and Tanzania,Africa.  Also while in Southern Texas, we will be going into Mexico for a few days and hopefully get some of those pastors and churches involved in the Rio Grande Valley meeting in March.
All the family is doing well. My oldest daughter Stacey, is recovering from her accident in March. She is living with us for she still has to have help with the kids and other activities. Also my daughter Marcey is expecting another baby in September. This is going to be our first Grandson. We are all excited about that!
Our support is doing pretty well. We have had several new churches take us on this year. We need about 15 -20 more to reach the goals for our support this year. I know God is going to do this.
Nathan, my driver and assistant is working out very well. He is from Alabama. He does a good job driving and working the book tables. He is also learning all he can so he can help me in the future to do some front work for the ministry. I hope to one day see him doing what I am now doing. That seems to be his desire.
Well, I think that is about all for now. I hope you will continue to pray for us. Pray for my health and pray for my family as well. Pray also for our support level. We need some pastors to step up this year and support Voice of Hope. It is a worthy investment. In the last 3 years, we have conducted 45 youth rallies, with over 23,000 in attendance with almost 1000 saved. I believe God is pleased with that.
God bless you all for supporting us. Thank you for your prayers most of all.
Hope to see you somewhere on the journey! Until He comes,
Your Servant,
Dr. David Harrison

Update: December 22, 2009 11:oo pm (EST)
I  am once again sitting in my favorite chair in front of the fireplace. The family has gone to bed. We just finished our devotions. The day is over and time for another night's rest.
It has been a good day. Grandkids came by and spent most of the day here. The weather has set the mood for Christmas. The ground is still covered from last week's snow. Christmas is just a couple days away. The decorations are pretty again this year and all the presents are wrapped. All the family will be here for Christmas Day and we will enjoy opening the gifts, watching the excitement in the eyes of the children and then enjoy a good meal together. Christmas. My favorite time of the year.
It has been a while since the last update. A lot has taken place since then. We have put many miles behind us. Some changes have taken place. Some for the good and some not so good. Anyway, time goes on and life is full of surprises.
This past year has been a good year. There have been some challenges and set backs, but all in all it has been good. There have been many saved. I have made new friends. New doors have opened. New staff have been added to Voice of Hope. Changes. That is normal but sometimes difficult.
As for the future, many things are in the making. I am praying about several different directions. I want to do some tent meetings again if it is the Lord's will. It is a difficult ministry but I believe there is still a need. I want to do overseas Evangelistic meetings again. The only hindrance is finances. If God provides, I would like to go to India, Africa, Pakistan, and maybe the Philipphines again.
I would really like to be involved in some church planting projects again. I have talked with the leaders of two top Bible Colleges and there are some things that may take place. We just have to wait on God.
The youth rallies are still going well. So many needs in so many places and not enough time. We are trying to expand our rallies to various parts of the U.S. There is interest, but still the ground is rather hard.
I desire to do some work in Alaska in the future and plans are in the making for 2011 for youth rallies, missions and several meetings in churches in the Anchorage area.
I also desire to do some work in the North Eastern part of the U.S. We are already working on getting into some churches up and down the North EAstern coast and possibly do a three week trip to the New England area later on in 2010.
So you see the plate is about full. I still have some dates that are open in 2010 but I am sure that they will fill up. I hope you will pray for all the team and for my family. I hope to do more this year than any previous year since going back into evangelism. Pray for God to provide the financial needs of both family and ministry.
Look to see some new books released in 2010. I intend to continue to write as long as the Lord leads and provides me with the material and ability.
Well, that is the update. I hope it lets you know what is going on. All the family is well. All four grandchildren are growing. We love all our family. Lindsay is the only child left at home and she is praying for God's will. I hope to see you in some of the meetings in 2010. Drop us a card or email from time to time and let us hear from you. Pray about supporting us financially if you do not already.
I trust your family will have a great Christmas season. Take care and be well. God Bless you all!
Yours In His Service,
Dr. David Harrison

Update: November 11, 2009  2:45 pm (EST)
I am sitting in a prophets room located at the Southside Baptist Church in Salem, VA. The good folks at Southside allowed me to stay here while I am in revival at one of their sister churches, New Grace Baptist Church. I have been here since Sunday. Pastor Rodney Cox and I go back to the early 90s when I first met him at his home church in Elon College, where I was holding a meeting. His Pastor Chris Haizlip and Friendship Baptist Church were enjoying an extended meeting where folks were being saved and the church was being stirred. The meeting went on for weeks with eternal decisions made.  Brother Cox and I have not seen each other since then. Now he is married with four children and is doing a good job at this country church in Salem VA.  He has been here four years and the church has about 40 in attendance.
I enjoy trying to be a blessing to churches around the country. I have played the piano for the congregation all week along with doing the special music as well as preaching each night. It makes for a tiring night but it does have its rewards.
I have been able to see some Pastors I have not seen in a while. One Pastor that was one of my preacher boys has supported the meeting. Pastor Mike Johnston was one of my first preacher boys and was the first convert that I baptized when I began preaching and pastoring. Also I got to see Pastor Duane King from Piedmont Baptist Church down on the NC border. I preached for him 17 years ago and have not seen him in many years. He brought a group up to the meeting and went out for some fellowship after the service. It was surely good to see him.
I close out the meeting tonight and will drive home after the service. It is about 3 hours. But I don't mind driving at night. Besides, I look forward to sleeping in my bed. It has been a good meeting. The crowds have been small but God has been present each service. I believe the folks have been helped along with the Pastor and his family.
So many Pastors and their family are weary in their ministries. They serve in difficult, and often isolated areas and lack good fellowship. They so look forward to their meetings when others come and fellowship can be enjoyed with some of God's choicest servants. It is such an encouragement to many. That is what makes the ministry for  me so special.
Well, since last update, it has been a whirlwind. After my summer surgery, I went back on the road and have not stopped except for a couple cancelations. Our meetings have been great. We are beginning to slow down a little for the holidays. We have a two week trip beginning the day after Thanksgiving that will take us to Texas and Oklahoma. Then for the rest of the year, we will be home, preaching locally for the rest of the year on weekends but no revival meetings during the week.
I hope to hunt a little and spend some time with my family. I look forward to sitting in front of the fireplace, enjoy the Christmas decorations as well as all the special snacks and Christmas treats that we enjoy this time of year.
This is my favorite time of the year. WE began decorating for Christmas the first week of November. We have lights, and trees all over the hours. Note I said "trees." We have two large trees, two medium trees and about a half dozen small trees along with lots of snowmen, and candles a plenty. When they are all on and lit, it is really a beautiful sight! The grandkids come in the house with their eyes as large as saucers! I get so excited by their excitment!
Well some good things are happening in Voice of Hope. In October, we put a family on the road full time for Voice of Hope. Bobby and Jo Ann Logue surrendered to go full time for VOH and present the work of our ministry in churches all across America. The Logue travel in their RV and are scheduling now churches all over. They are trying to raise finances so we can take this message of hope to young and old all across America. We are booking Youth Rallies now and have about 7-8 between now and April with about 20 more in the making. These meetings are all over the country. 2010 will be our busiest year yet.
Plans are also in the making for putting a young man on the road with me beginning in January, 2010. I have interviewed three men and have I believe come to a good conclusion. This young man will be annoucned in a few weeks. he will drive me everywhere I go, work my book tables, pray often while I preach, and basically be my assistant on the road. He will also begin to learn the ministry and eventually help in some front work for VOH. He will be given the title of Ministry Representative. He is a preacher and has a burden for this ministry.
Jason Benge is trying to raise his support so he can too go full time. He is such a help in planning these youth meetings. I could not do this without him.  My son is still working with the music in our youth rallies. He has been busy with a brand new baby girl, "Kylie" as well as his new business. His business is really growing at an alarming rate.  Jay Fritz is still working with us and you will see him in all our youth meetings.
My wife and Lindsay are not traveling as much as before.  Due to the now four grandchildren and the real fatigue that comes with traveling, I decided this year to let my wife stay home more. She will select certain meetings that she travels with me and when I am close to home, of course she will go. But for the most part, my long distant meetings will be me and my assistant.
My health is doing much better. I recieved a good report from the doctors. The kidneys levels are much better and all my levels otherwise are great! My back issue is still there. I wake up every day in pain, but I can live with that. At least I am able to go and do the things I need to do and want to do.
All the kids and grandkids are doing well. we are a typical family with sicknesses, and common needs. But in all, things are good. God has truly been good to us this year. It has been tough. Three months off this summer really put a strain on my budget, but somehow we are surviving. We have lost some support this year due to the economy and the effect it has made on churches and their budgets. Nevertheless, God is good. We are trying to replace that lost support and raise some additional support to make up for what we do not get on the road. Churches try to do the best they can, but expenses on the road as well as keeping up a home really puts a strain on our finances. Really pray that God will burden churches and individuals to get under a burden to help us out. WE want to do more for Him until He comes!
We are praying about doing our first Tent Meeting in many years this upcoming summer. Watch for details coming soon.
Well, it is about time to get ready for service. Pray for us. Hope to see you soon somewhere on the road. Stay in touch. Pray that God will provide. Pray for these new additions to VOH ministry. Pray for my family. And If I don't see you or talk to you before the holidays, I hope you have a safe, blessed and peaceful and prosperous holiday Season!  God Bless!
Your Servant,
Bro. David Harrison

Update:  August 12, 2009, 1:45 pm (EST)
I am sitting here (yes you guessed it) in my favorite chair. I am in a revival meeting this week at the Straightway Baptist Church in Elon College, NC. Pastor Jimmie Bledsoe and I have been friends for a long time and I always enjoy being with his good people.
Well, it has been a long time since I wrote an update. I underwent surgery in July and am recovering from that event. I also have been on an extended leave from traveling since the first week of June. I started having some real physical problems while in Florida, and I grew so weak that I decided to take some time off this Summer which proved to be the right decision. While off, I had surgery on my back to replace an implant that needed to be replaced, and that is that.
I wish I could give you a 'glowing' report from the last few months, but I am afraid things have been fairly routine. This time of year, people are scattered and distracted and revival ministries such as ours are somewhat put on the back burner. But anyway, we have been in good meetings, seen a few saved and tried to keep the fires burning. We have preached to youth and preachers and traveled quite a few miles since the last update, and I just thank God for His safety and provisions.
One of the things that most distrub me at this point in my life is the situation that we now face that is causing many churches and ministries to cut back and even stop with outreach ministries. Due to the economic downturn, many churches have either canceled meetings or stopped their support or both. This has not effected us until the last couple months. We have received letters from good churches who are really struggling. We have had a few meetings canceled due to finances. I know that some of my Evangelist friends are experiencing the same thing.
I would ask you to reall pray for us on the road that we can keep traveling and churches will continue to book revival meetings and youth meetings. So many Pastors are turning to their "Pastor" friends for their meetings, therefore saving on the expense of bringing in an "Evangelist." I guess I understand, but really, the Evangelist is a gift to the Church and needs to be used.
Also, our youth are in a delimma. They need someone to reach out to them. Instead, many churches are "cutting back." We cannot afford at this time to lose this generation. I am praying that God will continue to burden His men to keep on scheduling these rallies for our nation's youth.
Out family is doing well. We are expecting our fourth grandchild this Fall. My son and his wife are due in November. The rest of the family is well and busy.
I would ask you to really pray for us. Due to the loss of some supporters, we must raise more support. We need about 15-20 more churches to take us on monthly. We are also still praying for an RV. That has not changed. Due to my physical issues, it would surely be a blessing to sleep in the same bed each night and traveling would be so much better with our own traveling house. So make that a matter of prayer. All we need is about 100 people who would give a give each month for three years and we could pay for it and be done with it. Maybe God will speak to you about doing something special toward this need.
Well, that about does it for our update. We have a fairly busy schedule this Fall, but there are a lot of open dates. If we can be a blessing to  you, just call and schedule us. We would be glad to come. Pray for us physically, as well as financially. We really need God to work miracles in this day of uncertainly. We are not discouraged, but I have to say I am somewhat concerned.
Tell all we said Howdy and we hope to see you along the revival trail. God Bless and take care.
Yours For Revival,
Brother David Harrison

Update:  April 4, 2009, 10:00 pm (EST)
I am sitting in a Comfort Inn motel in Barboursville, West Virginia.  I arrived this evening and will start a meeting Sunday morning at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Culloden, WV.  Pastor Claude Spurlock has been a dear friend for many years and they are one of our supporting churhes.
It has been many years since I was here last.  Brother Spurlock is one of many Pastors I have met through the years, that has a geniune burden for revival.  He has been involved in all the tent meetings that I conducted in this area over the years.  I am looking forward to fellowshipping with he and his family as well as the Church family.  I also anticipate renewing some old acquaintances with some long time friends.  This area holds many good memories for me and to God Be the Glory, there are some here that are heading to heaven because of the old Gospel Tent that came to their town.
It has been a while since I last wrote an update.  The miles have been many and the news is quite long.  I will try to bring you up to date and give you a littel insight to the last two months.
March was a busy month with a lot to report on.  I started out the month in Chilhowie, VA at the Chilhowie Baptist Church.  Pastor Chuck Herrell is a dear friend that I first met when he was in Ohio.  The church in VA has really grown under his leadership with his attendance now well over 300.
The meeting was great with the old fashioned choir setting the background.  Each night, the altars were filled.  The attendance was good in spite of some snow.  On Wednesday, there were several saved.  I think this church is really hungry for a move of God and I look forward to returning there again in the future.
On Saturday, March 7, New Grace Baptist Church in Concord, NC hosted its second annual VOH Youth Rally.  I preached along with Ev. Brian McBride.  This was the first time I had used two preachers in a rally, but it really went well.  The youth choir did great and Brother McBride's family did the special music along with Ev. Kurt LaBove.  The altar call was great and the fellowship afterward was good.  As usual, they had to bring out chairs and use the overflow room.  This is always a good meeting and I cannot say enough about New Grace Baptist Church.  Thanks Pastor Montegomery and church family for the hard work!
On Sunday morning, I was able to attend my home church, Gospel Light Baptist in Walkertown, NC and then caught a plane to Los Angelos at 3:00 pm.  I landed in LAX airport to get ready to begin the West Coast Conference on Prayer and Revival.  The First Baptist Church in Long Beach, CA hosted the meeting.  Dr. John Wilkerson is the Pastor.  I cannot say enough about this church.  The ministry here is unbelievable!  So much I could say, but there is not enough time or space.
First Baptist is about reaching people.  There are churches of every nationality.  They are literally reaching the world right in their own back yard.
The Conference was a great success.  Apart from Dr. Beckum being sick, it was better than we could have imagined.  We had great attendance, good music each night, and the response from the people was amazing.  They even liked this old Tarheel's singing and preaching!  Imagine that!
They were several nights that the altar call saw people down the isle all the way to the back door.  There is such a hunger for the Word in California.  And believe it or not, there is a stirring of revival in many places in that state.  With all that California furnishes in the way of worldly ideas, California stands ready for I believe a move of God.  There are men and women who have a hunger for God, not like many places here in the Bible belt.  They have not seen what you and I have.  I can hardly wait til' next year to be back again with the fine people at First Baptist.  Thanks Pastor Wilkerson and thanks Church family!  Job well done!
While in California, we were able to go to another Pastor's Fellowship.  There were about 60-70 Pastors from all over Southern California.  There are really some good men doing some good work.  We need to pray for the brethren in California.
I visited some of the works while I was there.  There are some young churches that are coming along with a great vision.  Then there are some churches like First Baptist and Lancaster with Bro. Chappel and Brother Trevor down South, that are beginning to make an impact on California and even on the nation.
I left from Long Beach and traveled to Santa Maria, CA to begin a meeting with the Lighthouse Baptist Church.  Pastor Jerry Scheidbach has been there about 13 years.  The work there has fought some battles but they are really sincere in their search for revival.  We had an unusual meeting.  Every message was geared toward revival and prayer.  The Pastor siad the meeting was just waht they needed.  I had great liberty each night.  I cannot wait to see what God does there in the days to come.  It is one of the prettiest cities that I have ever been in.  Snuggled in a agricultural area and surrounded by mountains.  It makes for a beautiful backdrop.
The unusual thing about California, is that even though they are the largest state, (most populated) there is a shortage of churches.  While there, I obtained a list of all the cities in California, 10,000 population and up.  There are at least 150 cities over ten thousand people, and some even 100,000, that do not have a Bible preaching Baptist Church.  Some cities like Los Angelos, with millions, have only one or two churches.  There is such an open door.   It is not all like what we think San Fran or Berkley are, but instead most are filled with middle class people, who for the most part or rather conservative in their politics, and not closed to the Gospel.  It is a real gold mine for the willing preacher who is not afraid to work and step out by faith.  If I were younger and lead of God to Pastor again, I would head to California!
I also got to visit one of my dream places while I was there.  I took Saturday and went to the Reagan Library.  It was a moving experience that I will never forget.  It reminded me of better days politically and made me thankful that I am an American!  If ever in that area, do not miss the Reagan Library!  It is worth the time and money!
I got to see many sites such as the Queen Mary, permantly docked in the Long Beach Bay area.  It is now a floating motel and tourist attraction filled with lots of history.  One note, it is the ship on which the great evangelist Gypsy Smith died.  It was a wonderful experience!
While in California, my oldest daughter Stacey, gave birth to her second daughter and my third granddaughter.  Hennesey Edin Berry is so beautiful!  I had no more arrived in my motel on that first Sunday in CA, and at 1:00 am , Stacey called and was on her way to the hospital.  I had to enjoy the pictures they emailed me until I finally was able to hold her in my arms.  God has been so good to our family!  Baby and Mother and Dad and Grandparents are all doing well!
I left for home on the 19th and rested in my bed after midnight on Thursday.  It sure was good to be home, even though it wasn't for long.  I left againg that weekend for South Carolina and started a meeting on Sunday at the White Horse Heights Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.  Brother Mark Alexander is a great man with a great family.  I really enjoyed the meeting.  It too, was a very unusual meeting.  God did some marvelous things and the people seemed to go away each night saying that they were really helped by the messages.  I was able to make some new friends and see some old ones.  I look forward to going back again soon.
On Saturday the 28th, we conducted a VOH Youth Rally at the Caraway Baptist Church in Sophia, NC.  Pastor Jim Honeycutt is a wonderful Pastor that I met in Wyoming about a year ago.  the church was filled with young people, many if not most, were first-timers to a VOH meeting.  The youth choir did great and the specials by the church young people were very good.  I preached a message and there were 10 precious souls saved!  Brother Honeycutt was so excited that he said no matter what date, let's do it again next year.  Thanks Pastor and congregation for the great job you did!  Can't wait until next year.
On Sunday the 29th, I was at the Sure Foundation Baptist Church just south of Greensboro, NC.  Pastor Jeff Mabe is the young Pastor.  He is dynamic and exciting and God has His hand upon him.  We had a great Sunday School and Worship service.  My family sung and I preached and the altar filled.  Following the service, we enjoyed a meal in the fellowship hall and then held an organizational meeting with his workers in coordination with the upcoming VOH Youth Rally to be held there in October of this year.  It looks to be a great meeting.
I took Sunday night off and went to hear my Preacher and enjoyed the next week at home with my family.  I was able to spend time with my new grandbaby and see all my children.  We went to see my wife's mother and spend the day.  I also was able to figure out how to download my new IPOD and I did so.  I now have over 1600 songs, 400 pictures, and four or five messages loaded and still have over 101 GBs of storage!  (That's 'geek' talk for all you red necks).
On Saturday, which is today, I headed for West Virginia to begin a meeting with Pastor Claude Spurlock.  And by the way, I was able to use my new IPOD while traveling.  With the purchase of one cord, I was able to connect it to my radio in my Suburban, and listen to the Primitives, Inspirations, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, among many others.  Wow!  I love electronics!  America!  What a nation!
Well, I think that about sums it up.  There have been many meetings, folks saved, lots of hope for revival, new babies born, and many new friends made.  All in all, it has been a good two months.  I am really blessed.  I cannot say that I don't have any problems or troubles, because I do.  But God has been so good to me, I cannot afford to complain.
Thanks to you who help make all this possible.  Without your prayers and support, I could not do anything for God.  You help me to accomplish God's will for my life.
Pray for me in the next few months.  There are lots of things going on.  The big Conference in Pigeon Forge, TN in July is really begining to weigh on me.  It is a big responsibility, in more ways than one.  Also, I am finalizing plans for the summer.  There may be a tent meeting to be announced.  Also, I may be announcing my return back to overseas crusades again.  India may possibly be my first trip and that could take place as soon as this year.  These two meetings alone will cost the ministry over $75,000.00, but the potential of reaching literally thousands of souls is exciting.  So pray and I will keep you informed.
Well, I am tired and you should be by now.  Thanks for reading all of this.  Thanks for even caring about what we do.  I love you all.  Until next time,
Your Servant,
Brother David Harrison

Update: February 17, 2009  4:00 pm (EST)
Well, it has been a while since I last wrote an update.  It has been four of the greatest weeks that I have ever experienced.  I arrived home last night about 10:00 pm from Arkansas, and completed thirty days that has covered 10,000 miles, most of which which by automobile.
It started on January 15, when I left for the West.  We were to be at the Torrington Baptist Tabernacle in Torrington, WY with Pastor Chuch Hyatt.  We had a great day with him on Sunday, January 18th and as always, we enjoyed his family and congregation.
On Monday, we left for Gillette, WY to begin a two week meeting with Pastor Dale Russel and the Jericho Baptist Church.  The first week, I preached by myself and dealt with revival and prayer.  Wednesday, I did not get to preach due to testimonies and the moving of the Spirit of God.  On Thursday night, I preached on "Brokenness" and God surely moved in.  That night set the pace for the rest of the meeting.
On Sunday, I preached at the Mission Church at Recluse, WY to eight people.  I had to drive about 45 minutes in the snow and dealt with temps 0 and below.  We had snow almost everyday and temps reached -12 below and wind chills up to nearly -30 degrees.
The second week, Brother Tom Williams came in from Montana and preached with me.  This week was to be dedicated toward the message of prayer.  I cannot explain to you all that God did, but I have to say, this was one of the greatest meetings I have ever been in.  I have been in bigger meetings, but I have never been anywhere where I felt the presence of God any stronger.  Several services, no one preached.  Ever morning, we spent much time in prayer.  God did something for me in this meeting that causes me to say I will never be the same.  God also changed this church.  I will cherish the memory of this meeting and look forward to next year when again Bro. Williams and I will join together in Gillette to seek God again for revival.
On Saturday, January 31st, I left for Garden City, KS to be with Pastor David Jones and the Faith Baptist Church.  We were with him all day and really enjoyed the services and the fellowship.
I left after the service Sunday night, February 1st, to return home.  I had to be home by Tuesday to begin the week of youth meetings in North Carolina.  I arrived home late Monday night and early Tuesday, we started a series of events in the public schools.  Brother Bob Holmes, Evangelist from New Hampshire, joined me for the week of meetings.  We were able to speak to nearly 6,000 students in public school.  The week ended on Saturday night at Peace Haven Baptist Church, with a Voice of Hope Youth Rally.  There were 1223 present!  The 150 member combined youth choir brought the house down and Brady Rochester and his family sung the specials.  I preached a brand new message entitled "Something is Missing" and God showed up in a powerful way.  The altar filled with kids weeping and getting right with God. I cannot tell you all that God did, but it was our best youth rally yet!
I left on Sunday morning for SC to be with the Victory Baptist Church and Pastor Greg Phillips.  We had the best services there ever.  The altar filled both morning and evening and the Pastor kept talking about how God used the messages.
I returned home on Monday and flew out on Tuesday, to return back to Gillette, WY to pick up a vehicle that God gave me to use for the ministry.  I rejoice how God always meets the needs of his servant.  As soon as we arrived in town, Pastor Russel asks us if I could have prayer meeting in one of his members' homes that night.  I agreed and about 9:00 pm, we arrived at a home to pray.  God showed up that night and we prayed until about midnight.
On Wednesday, we stayed for service at Jericho Baptist and the Pastor asked us to share about what happened in the week of youth meetings.  God again showed up in the service.  People began to testify and cry, and there was no preaching.  I shared about the previous week and showed the DVD of Saturday night service.  People cried, and praised God as they watched the video.  It was amazing to see the response of this church congregation, but they had prayed for us and they are one of our supporting churches that help make these meetings possible.
I left on Thursday to work my way back to NC.  We went down through Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansas, and arrived at Hot Springs on Saturday.  We met with Pastor Capaci on Saturday night and worked late on some things we will announce later.  I stayed for services at the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs all day Sunday.  What an exciting day!
Pastor Capaci and I met on Sunday for lunch in his home and worked all afternoon and after the evening service.  We are excited about what God is going to do in the future.
I left for home Monday morning and arrived late Monday night.  I cannot tell you all that God did in these last four weeks, but I can only say that the events of the last few weeks, has changed me forever, and will bring about many more changes in the days ahead.  Many doors are opening and so quickly, that it is frightening at times. I just ask you to pray like never before for me, my family, and this ministry.  I want to be all that God intends and never want to displease Him.  The burden of this nation weighs heavier on me than ever before.  May God help me to do this task and bring Him all the glory He so deserves!
Well, that is the summary of the last four weeks and ten (10) thousand miles.  Sounds tiring?  Believe me, it is!  But it is worth it!  I am home now for a few days and I intend to take it easy as much as I can.  So if you are wondering where I will be this week and next-you will find me in my favorite chair!  Thanks.
Your Servant,
Dr. David Harrison
Update:  January 4, 2009  11:52 pm (EST)
What a weekend!  That is the only way to describe how I feel. We just finished our first meeting of the new year at Liberty Baptist Church, in Mooresville, NC.  They host our annual Regional Voice of Hope Youth Rally.  Saturday night, God did it again.  With the youth choir in full form, the Brady Rochester Family providing special music, and after the Message, the altar was filled.  There were 520 present, 21 churches represented, 3 saved and dozens of other decisions.  A good time of fellowship closed out a supernatural night.
Thanks go to Liberty Church Family for their hard work.  Thanks also goes to Steve Brown Ministries for providing live video over the World Wide Web, as well as producing our DVD of the service.  He will be doing more of our meetings in the future.  Thanks most of all goes to God for answering prayer and keeping His promise to do what only He can do.
We were at Liberty Baptist all day on Sunday, and my, how God showed up.  There was no preaching Sunday morning, only tears, testimonies, and lots of praises.  The altar filled several times with people getting help.  The Rochesters did a great job magnifying God and it was just great.  I closed our Sunday night with a message on prayer, trying to challenge God's people to commit this year to more prayer and a more effective prayer life.  We are just grateful to God for Liberty Baptist Church and their love for God, for young people, and for Voice of Hope ministry.  It is churches like Liberty that make our ministry successful.
Well, it is time for bed.  Tomorrow is a busy travel day to Tennessee. We will be with the Grace Baptist Church in Seveirville, TN for the annual Campmeeting.  It is always a great time of spiritual refreshing.  Well, take care until next time.  God Bless you all and keep on praying for us.
Your Servant,
Brother David Harrison

 Update: December 11, 2008  9:00 pm (CST)
Life is always full of surprises.  We were up this morning early, and were excited about the hope of being at home early on Friday morning.  WE had made up our minds to drive all day and night and sleep for a few hours in our bed before the "grand-kids" arrived.  But like so many of life's plans, it was all interrupted by a surprise winter snow storm in Tennessee.
My wife had taken over driving and was coming through Nashville, when all at once, we saw snowflakes.  The further we went, the worse it got.  My wife does not do well in snow, so she pulled over and I drove.  But as we made it to the Lebanon exit, we could not see the lines in the road, and there were accidents being reported along with the wild truck drivers flying by.  With my heart, I wanted to continue on to North Carolina.  But the thoughts of the mountains ahead, temperatures falling, and being without my four-wheel drive, we decided to pull over and give in to the snow.
So we are here in the Comfort Suites, writing my update.  As the song goes, we are "thinking about home."  Oh well, we will try again in the morning.  We should get there sometime after lunch, if all goes well.  But all jokes aside, it is really beautiful.  Snow, a good bed in a nice motel, the Tennessee atmosphere, makes for a good "winter's night" sleep.  Thank God for safety and a good place to sleep.

I thought about all the things I see from time to time that I wish many of you could enjoy.  Today was one of those times.  We were coming through Arkansas, and the sight in the sky was almost breath-taking.  It is the time of the year for the migration of the ducks and geese.  As we were driving, the sky ahead was literally filled with ducks.  They were thousands of ducks.  Everywhere you looked were ducks.  The fields were an attractive sight for the migrating birds.  Some of the fields were partially flooded and others were planted with some type of food source.  It all made for an attraction to the millions of birds that fly South each year.
As I watched, my only thought was I would like to be sitting in a "blind" somewhere with my trusty shotgun, plenty of shells, and my insulated overalls.  That would make for the dream of a life-time.  I will not forget that sight.  That was by far, the most birds I have ever seen at one time.  It was truly a beautiful sight!
Well, that is about it.  It has been an interesting day.  God is so good to us.  I don't deserve His blessings!  I am ready to call it a day and start out tomorrow for home.  Pray for us.  The roads get long at times, but to see the souls saved like on this trip, makes it all worth while.  Take care until next time!  Merry Christmas!
Brother David

Update:  December 10, 2008  11:00 pm (CST)
"There is no place like home."  Those are famous words and tonight, those words are near to my heart.  IN the MORNING, we head toward North Carolina and specifically, HOME!  As we head home, we are rejoicing in our hearts over the victories that have been won this trip.  This has probably been the best trip we have experienced this year.
We closed out our trip tonight at the Southwest Baptist Church, with Brother Sam Davison.  We had a wonderful time and they are a great church.  The music was great.  The people were so friendly.  God has truly used this great man of God.  Getting to stand in that pulpit will go down as one of the highlights of my year.
I fell in love with both the congregation and the student body at Heartland.  I look forward to returning soon and I will not forget this experience.
Well, this year is about over.  Only a few more weeks and a few more services.  I will not have many more entries in "Revival Update" this year.  Just know, I do thank you for your love and prayers toward us as we continue in our service for Him.  Take care, have a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.  God Bless you all!
Brother David

Update:  December 9, 2008  2:00 pm (CST)
Again, I am sitting in a Hotel in Oklahoma City, OK.  We arrived last night and are here until Thursday.  This morning, we preached at the Heartland Baptist Bible College for their last chapel service for this semester.  Heartland is a great college with a fine faculty and of course much of that is attributed to its leader, Bro. Sam Davison, Pastor of Southwest Baptist Church.
The school has almost five hundred enrolled this semester, which is a record.  The atmosphere is filled with excitement and enthusiasm.  I had great liberty to preach this morning with the altar being filled during the invitation.  My heart was encouraged as I looked out across the student body and imagined that in a few years, these would be our Pastors, Missionaries, and Evangelists and they would pick up the torch that many of us now carry.
We need to pray for our schools and churches that are meeting the challenge of preparing young men and women for the work of the Lord.  We need laborers in the vineyard.  It is places like Heartland, that are doing the work and helping to insure that fundamentalism and Christianity will prosper in the next generation.
I will be preaching at the Southwest Baptist Church on Wed. evening.  I look forward to being with the congregation and getting to see first hand what God has done through this great servant, Brother Davison.  He is one of our key leaders in today's fundamental movement.  He has continued in the old paths and we do need more like him.  I have great respect for him and I am truly honored to be able to stand in his pulpit.
After tomorrow night, we will head back to the old homeplace.  I am looking forward to seeing the house for a little while, although it will only be for a short while.  We will head out again on Sat. and will come back on Tuesday.  God has been good to us on this trip.  My heart been so encouraged.  I have absolutely been helped by these last few meetings.  God is still on the throne!
As we come to the end of this year, it has truly been one of the best yet.  We are on the brink of a new year, with new experiences, and new open doors.  Pray for us and keep in touch.  Hope to see you soon at a meeting near you!
Brother David Harrison

Update:  December 8, 2008  10:55 am (CST)
I am sitting in a motel in Salina, Kansas.  It is a beautiful little town of 50,000, in the lower, central part of Kansas.  We arrived here on Sat. after a wonderful week in Corpus Christi, TX.  As I reflect back on this weekend, I never cease to be amazed at how Great our God is!
About 16-18 years ago, I preached in the Southern Ohio area in revivals as well as under the old Gospel Tent.  I met a couple young men who had surrendered their lives to God and one of them was John Day.  About two weeks ago, after nearly 15 years, I received a call from Bro. Day.  He had seen on my website that I was in Texas and had this Sunday open.  He called and we renewed acquaintances over the phone and I agreed to come and be with him on Sunday, Dec. 7.
As I arrived at the church, Ray Ave. Baptist Church on Sunday morning, I was really amazed.  God has raised up this young man and is doing a marvelous work through him in this part of Kansas.  Churches in the West and Mid-West often struggle.  But this church is living proof, that strong, growing churches can be built in these difficult areas.
Yesterday morning, there were 235 present for the morning service.  The music was great and the people were some of the friendliest I had ever met.  I preached a salvation message and the altar filled.  There were two saved and several others got assurance of salvation.  Last night, I preached to the church and the altar was filled from side to side.  We enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of this wonderful congregation and we are looking forward to coming back.  We are planning a revival here in 2010 and possibly a Sunday service before then.
This has truly encouraged my heart for the Mid-West.  Building good, strong churches are tough anywhere.  But with prayer, sacrifice, committment, and lots of hard work, it can be done.  Thanks Pastor Day for the great day and thanks be unto God for His wonderful grace!  It has truly been a good trip thus far.
Today we head to Oklahoma City to be with the Heartland Baptist College and Southwest Baptist Church and Dr. Sam Davison.  We are truly looking forward to these couple days and our hopes are to be a blessing to the student body as well as the church congregation.  Keep on praying for us!  We love you.
Brother David Harrison

Update:  December 1, 2008  11:20 pm (CST)
I am in an apartment on the property of Roloff Homes and People's Baptist Church.  It is Monday night and we have just finished our first night of the Southwest Conference on Prayer and Revival.  Wow!  God showed up mightily on the first night.  There is no way that words can describe!
We had a great first night crowd with about 16 preachers present.  The Lord showed up while the Tacketts were singing and the altar filled from side to side.  Dr. Beckum did not preach, but instead talked a while and turned it over to me and I had to run with the ball.  Boy, was I ever in a fix!
God somehow knows how to get glory out of our old rotten flesh.  He let me preach for about an hour and the altar filled again.  I cannot express to you the joy that is in our hearts for this first night of our first regional Conference.  God is pleased and so are we.
If you would like, you can watch the services live each morning and night.  Just go to our home page and click on the site and you can enjoy the services live from Corpus Christi.  Or, you can go to SteveBrownMinistries.com, and click on the "Live Video" from People's Baptist Church, and enjoy.  The service times are Tue-Fri. morning at 10:00 am (CST) and 11:00 (EST).  The nights are Monday -Friday at 7:00 pm (CST) or 8:00 pm (EST).  Pray and we will keep you informed  on the services each night.  Take care and God Bless!
Brother David Harrison

Update:  November 24, 2008  7:00 pm (EST)
I am so encouraged with the churches that have popped up on the East Coast of North Carolina.  In recent years, I have preached in several Ind. Baptist Churches in our coastal communities, and they are strong and growing stronger each year.  I just returned from one such church this weekend.  The Cape Fear Baptist Church in Carolina Beach, NC, is one of those growing, exciting, churches, that is letting their light shine on the shores of North Carolina.  Their Pastor, Brother David Braddy and I go back almost 20 years.  We met shortly after his conversion, while he was attending the Friendship Baptist Church in Elon, NC.  Now God is using him in such a great way in this wonderful church.
The people are so kind, and the Spirit is moving in a special way.  The church was filled on Sunday am, and the altar filled following the message.  The choir is old-fashioned and the atmosphere is one of expectation and excitement.  If you are in that area, stop in and visit the Cape Fear Baptist Church.  Your heart will be blessed and you will not be disappointed in what you hear.  I look forward to being with them again soon.  God bless the good folks and the Pastor at Cape Fear Baptist Church in Carolina Beach, NC!

Update:  November 20, 2008  1:00 pm (EST)
This edition of revival update is being written again from my favorite easy chair.  I am home due to some cancelations.  I have taken advantage of these days and I have been able to do some things that I really enjoy.  We have now completed all our Christmas decorations for 2008.  We are going to be gone for a couple of weeks shortly after Thanksgiving, so we decided to get our decorating completed before the trip.  When we return, we can enjoy family and fellowship over the Christmas holiday.
I also had the chance to do a little deer hunting this week.  The Lord was good to allow me to harvest three deer.  We have meet in the freezer!  Thanks to Russell and Jay for the place to hunt and I always enjoy the good fellowship.
I have enjoyed the grand-kids while at home.  They brighten up our lives with their excitement and energy.  Family is so important and you cannot spend too much time with them.  Before you know it, they will all be grown and gone.
The rest of the year is pretty slow.  My Sundays are full and the weeks are empty.  November and December have always been hard to fill.  But God is always faithful.  I will take this time to rest and plan for the upcoming year.  Next year is going to be a year of transition.  There are a lot of changes coming to Voice of Hope and the Harrison Family.  It is amazing how God has quickly put this ministry into the place of reaching out to this nation and its youth.  I am excited and also am a little anxious.  Expect to hear about our plans in the days ahead.  There is a "Big Annoucnement" coming early in 2009 and in September at the NYWC, we expect to lauch this nation push to America's Youth.  So really pray for us, the team, and all involved.
Well, so long for now.  I will have another update before Christmas, but until then, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Be safe and well, and keep praying for us all.  We love you and thank God daily for your support.
Your Servant,
Dr. David Harrison

Update:  October 17, 2008 4:30 pm (EST)
It has been a while since I wrote an update, and it has surely been a roller coaster ride of events.  I just came in yesterday from being out of town, and I have enjoyed these two days at home with family and my comfortable chair and a cup of hot chocolate.
Let me begin with our trip to Arkansas.  This year, the NYWC was absolutely great!  God did some things for me that I had been praying for.  I was able to meet with Dr. Capaci and Dr. Ed Reese and make final plans to launch our youth rallies to the entire nation.  Our vision is a rally in every county in the U.S. and a ministry that is reaching this generation with the old time gospel.
We also started up the Youth Rallies again here in the Piedmont area of NC.  Our first was in Albemarle, NC on September 27.  Great meeting with some saved.  The next was in Asheboro, NC and it too was exciting and saw good results.
We had our first National Conference on Prayer and Revival in Greenville, SC.  God did more than we could have imagined.  We had over 140 preachers present, and a full house each night.  The preaching was extraordinary, powerful, and life-changing.  Everyone went away looking forward to next year.  (See more on the National Conference Page)
We had a great revival in Jacksonville Baptist Temple, with 20 young people saved on the final night.  Bro. Patterson is a great pastor with a big vision.
We had possibly our best meeting to date with Pastor Howard and the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Oakboro.  I preached on prayer and revival each night and had unusual liberty.  I always look forward to being with these good people.
I just returned from SC,where we held our first revival with the folks at the Welch Creek Baptist Church, in Walterboro, SC.  Pastor James Baker is a wonderful man and Pastor, and his folks made us feel so at home.  We had such a good time, fellowshipping and seeing the sights.  We were able to go to Charleston, and see that lovely town.  We also spent the day at the Long Brow Plantation, enjoyed the wildlife, including the alligators!  No doubt, it was some of the most beautiful sites in the world!  God is so good to let us enjoy these wonderful pleasures.  All this and heaven too!  The ladies cooked for us each day, and we were spoiled!  I have made new friends and met new family in Walterboro.  I can't wait until I return!
God has been so good, with souls being saved and saints being helped.  I never cease to be amazed at how God allows me to travel, met so many wonderful people, and serve Him in these last days.  He meets needs and blesses us beyond words.  Hope to see you soon in a meeting near you!

Update:  September 5, 2008  9:30 pm (EST)
I am sitting here on my motel bed, outside of Louisville,KY.  We have just finished up the Homecoming Revival/Campmeeting, at the Grace Baptist Church, with Pastor Dave Woosley.  We had a great meeting with morning and evening services.  The Church was full and there were four (4) saved.  Praise God!
I always look forward to being here each year.  The people are so kind, and the Church folks really like to "go to Church."  The singing, preaching and fellowship is great!  Lord willing, we will be back again next September.
We will leave in the morning and head to Benton, KY and will preach three times on Sunday for Bro. Logsdon.  We will head back to NC for a couple days, and then on to Arkansas for the National Youth Workers' Conference with Brother Eric Capaci.
In just a few weeks, we begin the VOH Youth Rallies.  September 27, will be the first for the new school year.  Sweet Home Baptist in Albemarle will kick it off and by the end of next Spring, we should have preached to thousands of youth and hopefully have many stories to tell.  We have about 16 Rallies scheduled so far, with a few more dates to fill.  Pray for these meetings.  Also the Prayer Conferences are finally here.  The National meeting in SC is in three weeks, September 28 through Oct. 2.  It is going to be great!
We are excited what God is doing.  Don't quit praying.  WE need your prayers now, more than ever!  Also too, we are starting the last push for our support.  We are praying for "OPERATION: FINISH LINE".  Between now and new May, we are asking God to give us 25-30 more churches to add us to their mission support, thereby, completing our support.  Make this a matter of prayer.
Take care, stay safe, and keep the faith.  Come be with us at some of these meetings.  We need you there and you will be blessed.  Thanks for all you have done for us.
Your Servant,
Dr. David Harrison
Update:  August 5, 2008 7:55 pm (EST)
I am at home, enjoying my last night with my family, before I take off for Tennessee and Texas.  It has been good to be home for these days.  I have been able to rest, play with the grandchildren, and most of all, sit under some of the best preaching ever.
Last week, my home church, Gospel Light Baptist, in Walkertown, NC, held the National Sword of the Lord Conference.  I can honestly say, it was the best Sword Conference I have ever attended.  All the preachers  did a tremendous job preaching the Word.  The singing was great.  The Spirit of God was present.  Many lives were touched, including my own.  The fellowship was great and I enjoyed seeing many old friends from all over the country.
I came away from the conference with a fresh desire to seek God for Revival.  I sensed this year, that most of the preachers expressed a "urgency" in their ministries.  They know we don't have long.  They understand that we are in trouble spiritually, and God is our only Hope.  It sure helped me to know that I am not in the battle alone.  Not every knee has bowed to the gods of this world.  Thank God for those who are still standing!
I head out to Tennessee in the morning to be in the Tekoa Campmeeting held at the Victory Baptist Church, in Shelbyville, TN.  The meeting goes through Friday.  Then I catch a plane in Nashville, TN, Saturday, and head toward Texas.  I will be preaching in several churches there and will work on the upcoming Prayer Conference, in March, 2009.
This Fall is set out to be a busy one.  The Lord is opening up so many doors and I cannot wait to see what God is going to accomplish.  He has been so good to me and I feel unworthy to even stand in His presence.  Pray for me that I will meet the challenges of the future with courage and wisdom.  I want to do more for Him than ever.  Pray for my strength, health, wisdom, and most of all, souls.  I want to bear fruit for Jesus.  I don't want to face Him empty-handed.
I hope you will join us in any meeting near you.  If you can, plan to be with us in Greenville, SC, for the National Conference on Prayer and Revival.  It is going to be great!
I love you all, and hope to see you soon.  Pray for us and we will do the same for you.  Take care and God Bless!
Your Servant,
Brother David Harrison

Update:  July 24, 2008  1:05 pm (EST)
I am sitting home, relaxing before I leave to go to service tonight.  I am preaching at the Concord Lake Baptist Church, in Kannapolis, NC.  We started there on Monday and will finish on Friday.  Last night, we saw five adults saved in the Wed. service.  God moved and souls were saved.  The Pastor, Brother Ralph Hager, was so excited.  He has been praying for God to do something in his church and I believe his best days are just ahead.
I have been real busy since I updated this page.  We have been trying to get many things finished.  We have been trying to complete several books to be released before the Summer ends.  We are also making final preparations for a busy Fall. The prayer Conferences are coming soon.  There is much to do to get things ready for those large meetings.  We are also scheduling our Fall and Spring Voice of Hope Youth Rallies.  We have set aside 25 dates and it looks as though we have the majority of those already filled.  It should be an exciting next 10 months for Voice of Hope.
All the family is doing well.  And also, we are expecting another grandbaby.  Stacey, our oldest daughter, and her husband, Ben, are expecting again, so there is much anticipation in our family.  Our health is holding up okay.  The Lord has been so good to help us in spite of this old body.  Keep praying that God will sustain us so we can do the work He has called us to do.
We are praying desperately for God to supply us with an RV to travel in.  We are spending much time travelling across country, and I feel we could do so much better with something we could be comfortable in and be able to help so many more by having our own place to stay.  Really make that a matter of prayer.  You can see some pictures on the site of the one we have found.
Well, keep praying and visit with us in some of our meetings.  I hope to see you soon and may God Bless you and your family and ministries.  Take care,
Yours For Revival,
Brother David Harrison

Update:  July 1, 2008  11:00 pm (EST)
I am sitting again in my favorite chair with my wife and daughter, Lindsay.  We arrived home last night about midnight after driving all day.  We have been gone for almost three weeks.  We have been out West and in the Mid-West preaching and singing.  We were with the good folks at Jericho Baptist in Gillette, Wyoming; the good folks at Perry Memorial Baptist, in Buffalo, Wyoming for the "Big Horn Campmeeting; at First Baptist Church in Meredosia, Illinois; the Bunker Hill Youth Camp, in Bunker Hill, Illinois; and First Baptist Church, in Brighton, Illinois.  We had great meetings in Wyoming.  Campmeeting time is always a blessing.  So many of our brethren in the West have a difficult time, so this meeting gives us a chance to encourage them.
The Youth Camp was great this year.  We saw four young people saved and one young man called to preach, along with many other decisions.  The altar was filled each night, and we were all blessed.  Brother Sanders in Meredosia and Brother Ellard in Brighton, always bless us just to be around them.  These are truly great men of God.
All in all, it was a great trip.  Thanks to the churches who have stood with us during this time.  Their support allows us to travel to many small churches and mission works and minister to them, in spite of the increased expense in travel.  Without their faithfulness, we could not continue.
We will be home for a few days for some much needed rest.  We will be preaching close to home in July and August.  This Fall will be so busy, that I am glad for this slow time.
We are looking forward to the upcoming meetings.  The youth crusades will crank up soon.  We are looking forward to the Prayer Conferences, and also the area wide meeting in the Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle, North Carolina will be here before you know it.  We are excited and hope to see  you in some of these meetings.  God Bless!
Brother David Harrison

Update:  May 24, 2008  10:50 pm (EST)
I am back home from Texas now.  I arrived at 2:00 am this morning.  I rested a few hours, then took off to Concord, NC to the Near Calvary Baptist Church for a VOH Youth Rally.  Wow!  What a Service!  The place was packed and the power of God was present.
The youth Choir was the best yet and the special singing was great also.  I preached my heart out tonight on "Seven Ways To Send Your Children To Hell."  The altar filled, and tears flowed.  Thank God for showing up!  These rallies are making a difference in the lives of families.

We enjoyed a good time of fellowship afterward and it is back home, couple hours of sleep, off early in the morning to preach in Sophia, NC.  A busy day and a busy week ahead with us leaving early Monday am for California.
I want to thank all of you that have been a part of these VOH rallies this year.  We give God the Glory for all he has done!  We will take a break during the summer and Lord willing, VOH will crank back up this Fall.  We will be announcing the upcoming rallies very soon.
Pray for us and we hope to see you soon!
                Brother David Harrison

Update:  May 20, 2008  10:00 am (CST)
I am sitting in the office of Brother Ed Cowger, the Pastor at People's Baptist Church Roloff Homes, in Corpus Christi, TX.  I have been here since early Sunday morning.
I started in revival meetings with these wonderful people in the Sunday morning service.  We have had one more meeting!  What a spirit is on this place.  Such memories, such fond, sweet memories!  Just to walk on these grounds excites something in my soul.
It has been over 15 years since I was here last.  Coming back had certainly rekindled my love for this work and my appreciation for the work of the late Lester Roloff.
Brother Cowger is the new Pastor of People's Baptist Church. He has served as Pastor for almost three years.  His burden and passion for this work is amazing.  I have listened to his heart as he has shared his vision.  He is no doubt one of the kindest, most gentle, humble men of God that I have had the joy of meeting.  I believe his vision for this place is going to take the Church to new heights and continue on with the legacy of Roloff Homes as started by his predecessor.
We had a Pastor's luncheon on Monday with about 15-20 present.  We met some great men, from around the area, including two pastors who came all the way from San Antonio.  They are excited about the upcoming Conference on Prayer this Fall.

One of the reasons I am here is to lay the foundation for the Southwest Conference on Prayer and Revival, November 30 - December 5, 2008.  People's Baptist Church will host this Regional meeting.  This will be the first meeting and Brother Cowger has already expressed that his desire is to make this an annual meeting.   I along with Dr. Benny Beckum, Dr. Bobby Roberson, and Dr. Eric Capaci, will be the main speakers.  There will be preachers from all across the region and plenty of good Gospel singing.
I enjoyed hearing the Jubilee Girls again.  What a blessing to hear their testomonies each evening.  The work here is doing the same thing it always has, except it doesn't have the large numbers.  But they are working and praying, new staff is arriving, and plans are being made to make this place busy again with all the buildings full.
Jubilee Girls, City of Refuge, Lighthouse Home,  the Christian School, People's Baptist Church, and a home in Missouri are just part of what is going on here in the ministry.  New young men and young ladies are arriving each week.  The work is prospering.  There is good eating at the "Come and Dine" hall here on site.  Lots of things such as remodeling the buildings, creating new Sunday School areas, new staff housing, bus ministry, etc.  It all sounds exciting and I want to be  a part.
Tell everyone that Roloff Homes is still doing great.  If you know someone who needs help, I recommend you send them here.  It is still a place of refuge.
Well, you will here more about this place in the days ahead and you will begin to hear the Name:  Ed Cowger.  He is a leader with a vision and he is my friend.  Pray for this place that God will continue to keep his hands on it and it will prosper in the days ahead.
I am glad I have been able to come back!  I will probably be back this summer.  I have several invitations that I need to fill in preparation for the Fall Conference.  Make plans to come and join us in December.  You will not regret it.

Update:  May 8, 2008  11:00 pm (CST)
I once again am sitting up in my motel room writing my update.  We are in the final nights of Missions Conference here in Kansas.  We have had a great time.  The folks up in Atwood, KS recommitted their Faith Promise Committments and went above their last years amount.  They will be able to see their missions program grow this year.  What a blessing I had being with the New Pastor, Brother Jerry Hill.  He is going to do a great job there in Atwood.
Here in Garden City, KS, Brother David Jones is just starting here at Faith Baptist Church.  This is their first Faith Promise Conference, ever.  We are hoping that this lays a good foundation for the years ahead.  I have preached just basic principles of Mission Doctrine and the Church's responsibility to Missions.
I am so blessed as I travel.  I get to meet many new friends and once in a while, I get to enjoy some of life's wonderful pleasures.  While I was in Atwood last week,  I was able to take Monday morning and go hunting for the beautiful Rio Grande Turkey with my good friends, Carie Lang and Brother Heinz, the Pastor at Colby.
We were not in the turkey blind long before action started.  We enjoyed watching turkeys as they went about their daily routine.  We talked and shared great moments among friends.  Then about 10:45, I was able to harvest my first Rio with a Beneli 12 gauge shot gun furnished by my friend Carie.  He is a beautiful bird and by now is somewhere on a UPS truck heading to Lexington, North Carolina.  God is so good to let me serve him and then from time to time bless me by allowing me to enjoy some special moments with family and friends.  I hope you enjoy the pictures below of my trophy bird.  He was about 30 lbs., had a 10 inch beard, and 1 & 1/8 inch spurs.  A trophy bird and a trophy moment and memory.  Thanks Brother Carie and thanks Dear Lord for allowing me the "desires of my heart."

Update:  May 3, 2008  9:00 pm (CST)
I am sitting on my bed in the Comfort Inn in Garden City, KS.  I have been flying since this morning.  I left Greensboro, NC about 10:00 am EST and just got settled into my motel room.
I am in Kansas to preach two Missions Conferences at two different churches.  One is Faith Baptist Church in Garden City, and the other is Atwood Baptist Church in Atwood, KS.
I am looking forward to being with Brother David Jones at his new church in Garden City.  He just became Pastor here a short while ago.  I am also looking forward to meeting the new Pastor at Atwood, Brother Jerry Hill.  He was just voted in last week.
As far as the last few weeks, it has been a whirlwind.  The last time I wrote an update, we had just arrived in Georgia for a two week meeting.  Wow!  What a meeting!  We certainly had a great meeting teaching them about Church building, soul-winning, etc.  We went soul-winning both Saturday mornings with 16-18 showing up to go.  We had great success and I believe the church was helped.  ON the Last Sunday, they had their largest attendance ever.  They usually average 55-65 on Sunday mornings.  The last Sunday they had 107 in preaching.  We also saw 20 saved for the two week meeting!  To God Be the Glory!
We returned to North Carolina and enjoyed being with the good folk at Straightway Baptist Church in Elon, NC.  Pastor Jimmie Bledsoe and his family made us feel so welcome.  We enjoyed being with them and I believe some people got help.  We had a youth service on Friday and we thank God for those that came and for what God did.
It has been one more month.  Our schedule is a busy one for the next month or so. We have three missions conferences back to back and that for me is very unusual.  I am looking forward to a few days off soon.
By the way, while I was in Elon, Brother Bledsoe and I went turkey hunting one morning.  We had a great time.  We heard birds but they would not cooperate.  Too bad it wasn't deer season.  I had 9 deer come within 10 yards of where I was sitting.  They had to investigate the turkey decoys.  They were so funny.  I had a great time.
And while I am in Kansas, I am going turkey hunting here on Monday and Tuesday morning with my good friend Carrie Lang.  I have never shot a Meriam Turkey before.  I purchased my license at Wal-Mart this evening and I am ready to go.  What a blessing to be able to preach the gospel around the country and hunt turkeys in the fields of Kansas.  Does it get any better than this?  Stay tuned for pictures of my turkey.  (Gotta have faith!)
Well, pray for me and I will you.  Hope to see you soon at one of our meetings. God Bless you all!

Update:  April 14, 2008  10:30 pm (EST)
I am sitting in a motel room in LaFayette, GA.  I came into town this afternoon and began a meeting tonight at the Linwood Baptist Church.  We are looking forward to being with Pastor Eddie Killian and his good people for the next two weeks in Church Training and Revival.
The last month has been amazing.  We had a great meeting in Kannapolis, NC with Pastor Ralph Robinette.  God blessed each night and I believe it was the best meeting we have ever had there.
I was with Pastor Brandon Jordan at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC for his homecoming and Revival services.  God moved every night and I believe the best days are just ahead for that church family.
We had a Voice of Hope Youth Rally on Sat., April 12, at the Glory Light Baptist Church in Siloam, NC.  Pastor Keith Jones and the church family did a wonderful job in preparing for the rally.  The church was packed with youth groups from 23 different churches.  The church was packed with overflow in the fellowship hall.  This was the largest crowd in the churches' history.  There were 4 saved on Sat. evening and I was with them again on Sunday.  This was by far the best service I have ever had at Glory Light.  God showed up, the altar filled several times and one young lady gave her heart to Christ.  WE Rejoiced until about 1:00.  We all went away satisfied that God was pleased and we were certainly grateful.
The doors are opening to us every day.  He is meeting needs and I am sitting here amazed.  Please pray for us that we continue to be fruitful.  Hope to see you again soon.  Maybe you can join us for the upcoming VOH Rallies in May!

Update:  March 9, 2008  11:30 pm (EST)
I am again sitting (you guessed it) in my favorite chair.  I am catching up on my web site and trying to reflect over the past week.  Let's see if I can get it all in.
First of all, we were in Century, FL this past week for the Panhandle Baptist Camp-meeting.  Brother Hart and the congregation of Tabernacle Baptist were great hosts.  We had a wonderful week of preaching, praising, and fellowship.  God did so many things that we cannot fully list them all.
Preachers came from all over the US.  We enjoyed the music from the Henson Family from Kingsport, TN.  The building was filled for each service.  I had great liberty to preach and many people were helped.  The food was extraordinary and the kindness of the people was overwhelming.
God provided me with a brand new Martin guitar.  Several people gave to purchase it for me replacing the one I had to sell during my sickness two years ago.  I was elated by their kindness and will never forget that act of love toward me.  God is so good!
We flew home Friday and got ready for our VOH Rally on Saturday night in Concord, NC.  This will go down as one of our greatest rallies to date.  The New Grace Baptist Church worked hard and prayed hard for this meeting.  We arrived to find the sanctuary set up with extra chairs everywhere.  Also, the old sanctuary was prepared for "overflow" with a big screen to watch the service.  Almost an hour before service, the crowd started rolling in.  Vans and buses filled with young people registered and the miracle began.  By service time, both sanctuaries were filled to overflowing, people were standing, the parking lot was full and the power of God was present.
From the opening song to the closing prayed, the Lord was present.  The Bright Light Baptist Youth Choir sung the house down.  Free Indeed did a great job with the specials and the Pastor's son blessed with a song he had just written this week.
I preached a message on "SIN" and God sent old time conviction.  In the invitation, there were at least 15 who raised their hand for salvation with 8 of them coming and getting saved.  Dozens of others filled the altars for other reasons.  We enjoyed good fellowship following the service.  Sounds like it was just another service, but you would have just needed to have been there.
The folks at New Grace were astonished.  Sunday morning, I returned for the Morning service.  We were all still in "awe" of what God had done.  The reports started coming in from other churches.  I did not get into the pulpit until almost 12:00 o'clock.  Other churches had unusual services with people being saved.  The service spread throughout the Piedmont area.  Two churches Doubled our support and several others promised to become supporters.  We had interest from other churches who want to host a VOH Rally and so much more, I can't tell it all.
These meetings are working!  Three rallies this year with over 1500 in attendance and 29 saved beside the residual effect in the other churches.  You will not want to miss the next ones coming up.  It is going to keep getting better and bigger.  One day soon, we will see thousands of young people in one place, in one mind, in one spirit, and we will see God still the fires of revival again among our Youth!  I believe.  Do You?
              Brother David Harrison

Update:  February 25, 2008  11:00 a.m. (EST)
I am sitting again in  my favorite chair on this beautiful Monday morning.  I have to confess that this old body this morning is not wanting to cooperate with me.  It has been some weekend.
It started with our VOH Youth Rally Saturday night at the Seagrove GYM.  This was our first rally back on public school grounds and the first time a meeting like this was attempted in Seagrove.  Seagrove is just a small town that is known for its pottery but not for its evangelistic outreach.  The Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Poindexter hosted this meeting.  The work that they did was unbelievable.  They sacrificed time and money and labor to make this a success and success it was.
I don't think we could have asked for a better response.  There were nearly 400 present, with 18 different churches represented.  Many of these churches were first time to a VOH Rally.  The Believers Voices and Free Indeed provided the special music and I preached a message entitled "Making Wrong Choices."  The altar was full during the invitation with many decisions made that only God knows about.  There were 5 teens saved and all present was stirred and helped.  The spirit of revival moved into Lighthouse Baptist on Sunday am with a lady getting right with God and the Preacher didn't get to preach.  The Lighthouse Church Family was so excited and encouraged and I can't blame them.  They have much to be grateful for.  Thank you for your hard work.  You helped to make our first School meeting a memorable event that we will thank God for for many days to come.
On Sunday am, we were at the Peace Haven Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce Freeman.  The singing was great and the spirit was moving.  I preached a new message on "Lift up your eyes, Look on the fields."  God gave me great liberty and the altar call was amazing.  Tears flowed as people prayed for God to"open" their eyes.
After service, we had a luncheon with workers and staff and followed with an organzational meeting for our big VOH Regional Rally and Evangelistic Outreach next February, 2009.  We are planning a two week Public School Outreach ending with a large Rally at the Peace Haven Baptist Church.  We believe that God is going to let us speak to thousands of youth during our campaign and see hundreds give their lives to Christ.  We are asking God to make this the biggest and most successful meeting to date for the Voice of Hope Team.  Everyone is excited but there is much to do.  Brother George Evans and all the workers have committed to make this meeting the best yet!  Stay tuned for more information as we approach this big event.
We were able to stop by home for a few minutes, freshen up on our way back east to the Bright Light Baptist Church, in Robbins, NC where Brother Ralph VonCannon is the Pastor.  We had a great service.  I preached a new message entitled "If the Foundations be destroyed."  God gave liberty and I believe some people were helped.
The Pastor asked me to share my burden and at the end of the service he said that they were going to begin supporting me as one of their missionaries.  What a blessing!  They were just one of several new supporters that God gave us this weekend.  I praise God as he is faithfully opening the hearts of Pastors and people everywhere to become a part of what we are doing.  We cannot do it without God's people.  For all of you that are already a part, I just want to say "Thank You."
Well, this week will be a little slower.  I head to SC Tuesday to finalize some details at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, for the Upcoming Conference on Prayer and Revival in September.  Then Wednesday back down to Albemarle and Saturday I fly to Pensecola, FL to begin the Panhandle Baptist Campmeeting.  That's petty well all for now.  Stay tuned, there is much more to come!

Update:  February 17, 2008   11:30 p.m.(EST)
I am sitting in my favorite chair on this Sunday night.  Everyone else in already in bed.  This is usually my best time to work and write.  I am trying to "recover" from a week of "flu."  I had to cut my trip to Wyoming short due to a serious outbreak of the flu in the West.  Doctors said the flu strain was different than the one they had given us the shot for and thousands of people were being diagnosed daily with the "b' flu.
The trip out West was unusual for many reasons.  Of course, having to cut it short was not good.  Also, there were so many that were sick and other hindrances that made the meeting difficult to really get into some type of deep working of God.  But none the less, I believe some people got some help.
One of the things that I go out west for is for the preachers.  Just to fellowship with them and try to be a blessing to their families is well worth the trip.  These men and women are certainly paying a great price in the ministry.  It is no doubt a difficult place and they really need our prayer and support.
All in all, the West has a place in my heart.  There are quite a few men there that I have had a part in their ministry.  Some of them came out from under our ministry and we are certainly proud of the work they do.  Some of them have been friends for over 25 years.  So I guess the West will remain on my schedule for as long as I can travel.  I will be there again, Lord willing this June for camp-meeting in Buffalo, WY.  You should pray about traveling there some day.  You too would be blessed by what you see.  Maybe you will come before the Lord returns.
Pray for the work in the West and pray for us to get completely healed of this flu.  Until the next update, thank you for your prayers and support.
                          Brother David Harrison

Update:  February 12, 2008  10:00 (EST)
I have been in Wyoming now for about two weeks.  It has been cold every day and snowed so many times, I quit counting.  Two nights ago, I was awakened to the sound of high winds.  It sounded like the storms we have back east.  I looked out the window and could not see anything.  I thougth at first all the lights were out, but that was soon proved untrue.  I went to the front door and looked out to see a complete white out at 4:30 am.  Snow was blowing literally horizontally.  The winds were approximately 50 miles per hour gusts.  It was a sight to see.
It has been a good trip apart from the "bugs" and "viruses" everyone has been passing around.  Several of us have made trips to the local doctors for a "Z-pack".  Otherwise, it has been good.  We have enjoyed the fellowship with several pastors and missionaries.  The works here are difficult due to culture, weather, jobs, etc.  But the people that do attend church are solid and faithful.
Jericho Baptist Church in Gillette, WY is pastored by Brother Dale Russell.  He is doing a good work.  The church has about 20 or more regulars.  They are looking for a piece of property or a building to purchase.  We looked at a building the day I left town.  It has potential and after talking to the men, it looks as though they are going to try to make an offer.  They will need God to work a miracle so please pray for them.  My, how we take so much for granted!
Perry Memorial Baptist in Buffalo, WY is pastored by J.L. Perry.  He also came out of our ministry years ago.  The work here is doing good.  They had about 40 Sunday morning and over 30 Sunday evening.  This is where I came down with the bug.  Another pastor filled in for me tonight (Tuesday) and Lord willing I will be back tomorrow.  The service last night was good.  The message was on the home.  It was tough and Satan surely fought against the message. (Probably why I am sick today)  But we know he is a liar and a loser!
I leave Thursday for the Arapahoe Ind. Reservation in Riverton, WY.  I will be with Brother Anthony Cole, a young preacher from Tennessee.  The work has been there for many years.  He took it over last year when Brother Joe Copley left to go to Idaho to start a new work with the Indians there.  This is a good work with a long track record.  I always look forward to being with these good people.
Then Lord willing, I will be going home next Tuesday.  After three weeks, I will see the family.  I have the rest of the week off (as far as revivals go).  I will preach Wednesday pm in Albemarle, NC and then on Saturday, we have the big VOH Youth Rally in Seagrove, NC.  This is the meeting we had to re-schedule due to bad weather.  It was the Lord's will because we have had more time to work the meeting and it looks like there is going to be a full house.  Come help us out!  We need your prayer support.
Well, that is about all for now. Keep praying for VOH.  So much is happening.  We are booking Youth Rallies all around and the Conferences on Prayer and Revival are just around the corner.  We will be announcing two more conferences in a few weeks.  One will be in North Carolina and one in Arkansas.  We are also working on California and Washington State for several more.  Wow!   So much to do, and so little time.
PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR SUPPORT!  WE NEED 30-50 MORE CHURCHES TO TAKE ON VOICE OF HOPE MINISTRIES.  PLEASE PRAY WITH ME.
Until next time,  "There is Hope!"
                                                       Brother David Harrison
Update:  January 30, 2008 2:00 p.m. (MST)
I am sitting in a motel in Gillette, Wyoming.  I arrived here Monday evening late to begin a meeting at the Jericho Baptist Church where Dale Russel is the Pastor.  I stepped off the plane Monday to an artic chill of -8 degrees.  The wind was blowing, snow was falling and the wind chill was -26 below.  That is cold in anyone's world.
We have enjoyed several services thus far along with good fellowship with the Pastor and his family.  We also have been able to fellowship with several pastors in the area.  On Tuesday, about 10 men met at a little sandwich shop downtown for a Pastor's luncheon.  Church Planters, Missionaries, and Evangelists all shared their testimony and their burden.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship and I got to know everyone there much better after hearing their burden.
We will be in Gillette for two weeks.  We also will preach at a little Mission Church in Recluse,Wyoming on Sunday afternoon.  We usually have 6-10 people there.  There is no church in that community and never has been.
We will be at Buffalo, Wyoming later on in the trip as well as Riverton,Wyoming at the Arapahoe Indian Reservation for our last leg of the journey.  Please pray for us for safety and power in our preaching.  Pray for these men in the West.  They are faced with so many obstacles.  We in the East do not fully appreciate what we have and how spoiled we really are.  May God help us not to lose sight of our heritage.

Update:  January 27, 2008  3:30 p.m.
I do not know where to begin to share with you the events of last evening's Youth Rally in Mooresville, North Carolina.  It was at this church last  year that Voice of Hope Youth Ministry was "re-launched" after several years of inactivity.  We decided to return this year for our 2nd annual meeting.  The folks at Liberty worked so hard to make it a success and their labor paid off.
We began the service with good congregational singing and then the Youth Choir followed.  What a good job they did as they sang "Send The Rain" and "I Owe It All To You Lord.  There were about 65 in the choir from possibly a dozen different churches.  My son, David did a great job as well as all the musicians.
To basically describe  what happened:  there were over 30 churches that registered youth groups; there were probably close to 50 preachers present; the total attendance was over 600 (did not get an accurate number); and when the night was finished, there were 16 souls saved and another 50 or so who came forward and got some help and made some decisions.
The preaching hour was filled with conviction.  A few times in the service, you could hear a pin drop.  God was mighty in our presence and the work He did will only be fully revealed when we get to Heaven.
I had great liberty to preach.  My family was all there and they along with the Believers Voices provided the special music.  Also the Blessed Hope School for children from Valdese, NC shared in testimony and song to everyone's delight.
People all over the church shouted, some cried, while others sat in amazement over what God was doing.  I can honestly say there have been few services that were more powerful than last night's.  It will go down in our memory books as a special night for Voice of Hope as well as my family.
We want to thank the Liberty Baptist Church Family along with Pastor Eddie Graham for their great hospitality.  We look forward to returning there for another supernatural service in the future.
There will be some pictures downloaded later this week and if you would like to have a copy of the service on DVD or CD, just email us at Voice of Hope. You will not be dissapointed with what you see.  I hope in the future you will make plans to join us for another Voice of Hope Youth Rally.  Praise God for His Faithfulness!

Update:  January 19, 2008  12:15 pm
I am sitting again in my favorite chair looking out the window watching the snow start to fall ever so lightly.  I am supposed to be getting ready to go to a VOH Youth Rally in Seagrove this evening, but due to the potential of severe weather, we thought it best to reschedule the meeting.
I was at the Lighthouse Baptist Church Monday through Wednesday of this week preaching in preparation for the Youth Rally.  Their church is the sponsor for the rally.  We dealt each night with the responsibility of the church in the area of evangelism.  God really drove home the message to those present and I believe the days ahead will give evidence that this week's meeting made a difference.
We had to cancel Thursday evening due to icy conditions and Friday the men just met to pray due to a power outage at the church late that evening.  I have to say, as I began to reflect on this week, it is almost silly how so many things have happened. It has been a long time since I have experienced so much Satanic attack before a meeting.  I knew when we began to launch these series of rallies, Satan would try every way possible to hinder or prevent us from accomplishing our task.
There is probably nothing Satan fears more than for God to reach this upcoming generation with a message of hope.  I could plan ten campmeetings, and ten Bible conferences and never have as much opposition as we face in one Youth Rally.  The reason being that the hope and prospect for the future lies in the Youth.
We are rescheduling this rally for sometime in February and the Good Lord willing, we will crank up again Saturday at the Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville, NC for the 2nd annual Regional Youth Rally.  I hope you will pray for us in this endeavor.  We need you to turn up the heat in your prayer closet.  I know this is the Lord's will and I know Satan is going to do everything he can to stop it.  It is imperative that we stand together, believe God, go forward, pray for power and protection and trust God to do what He promised.
So this has been a week for the books.  From ice and snow, physical illnesses of many of the team members, power outages at the church, to attack on many of our minds, Satan has thrown a fast ball this week.  We will back up and punk, regroup and step back up to the plate believing God that all things work together for his glory.
So I will sit in front of my fire, drink coffee and eat a bowl of soup, nurse my very sore throat and get ready for another interesting week.  Just seven days from now, we will be in Mooresville.  I wonder what Satan has in mind for this week?  Oh well, To God Be The Glory!

Update:  January 10, 2008  11:45pm
I just arrived home from a long day.  I have covered three states since my last update.  We left Monday for Tennessee where we were in meeting at the Grace Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN for Camp-meeting Time.  Pastor Wayne Ownby and the congregation gave everyone a warm Smokey Mountain welcome.  There were over 125 preachers in attendance for the three day meeting.  With morning and night services, we got to hear lots of good preaching and singing.  The food was great
and the building was full but nothing compared to the spiritual food we received.  Several services were absolutely supernatural!  God shewed up in an unusual way.  Needs were met, wounds were healed, hearts were warmed and lives were touch.  I met lots of old friends and some new ones too.  All in all, it was one of the best Camp-meetings I've been to in many years.  God Bless Brother Ownby and his church family.
On Tuesday morning, I slipped out of camp-meeting to go down to Greenville, SC to meet with about 20 pastors in preparation for the upcoming Conference on Prayer and Revival in September, 2008.  God is already working among Pastors in light of this upcoming meeting. I scheduled seven pre-conference rallies called C.P.R. Rallies.  We will tell you more about them in the weeks to come.  I came away from that meeting encouraged and the work is getting done to make this "the meeting to be at" in 2008.
We returned back to NC Thursday afternoon and had a luncheon at 1:30 with a Youth Pastor from NC and scheduled a large VOH Youth Rally to be held in 2009.  We left there, came home, got ready to leave again and drove to Mooresville, NC to finish out a meeting there at the Liberty Baptist Church where Brother McNeese had been preaching since Sunday.  The Lord helped us and the altar was filled at the close of the service.  One young man was saved earlier in the week.
That seems to be everything since Sunday to update you on.  We are working on about a dozen meetings at the present with the next big dates being Jan. 19 at the Seagrove VOH Youth Rally and then on the 26th at Mooresville for the Regional VOH Youth Rally.  Come and be with us but most of all, pray!  See you next time!

Update:  January 6, 2008  11:00 pm
I have just arrived home from a busy weekend of traveling and have already started packing to leave early Monday morning for Tennessee.  I stopped long enough to do this Revival Update.  This has been one more weekend.
We started Saturday evening in Concord, North Carolina with Pastor Allen Montgomery.  We had supper and headed to New Grace Baptist Church for a Voice of Hope organizational meeting for the upcoming Youth Rally on March 8.  We had 31 workers present for the meeting.  God really impressed upon their hearts the urgency and seriousness of reaching our youth with a message of hope.  Things are in place and it looks like we are going to have a great meeting at New Grace Baptist.  Look for advertisements in the upcoming weeks.
We preached today at the Glory Light Baptist Church in Siloam, North Carolina where Brother Keith Jones is the Pastor.  We love these folks and they are a faithful supporter.  We had a great service this morning.  God showed up and the altar filled up before I finished preaching.  Wow!  God is so Good!  We also met this evening before service with 37 workers to organize the upcoming Youth Rally on April 12.  This is their first time hosting a meeting of this size and they are really excited.  We were encouraged at the response and I believe we will have a supernatural meeting at Glory Light Baptist Church.  Also look for more information in the upcoming weeks.  I trust you will try to come and bring a group with you to these Rallies.  We are currently working on about a dozen rallies across the Piedmont and several others in sister states such as Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Illinois, just to name a few.
We will be leaving early Monday to head to Grace Baptist Church in Sevierville, TN with Brother Wayne Ownby.  It is Campmeeting Time and we look forward to a good time in the Lord.
On Tuesday we will slip off to Easley, SC for a Preacher's Meeting.  About forty men of God are to meet me there in preparation for the upcoming National Conference on Prayer and Revival to be held at the great Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville, SC beginning September 28, 2008.  We have been working hard and praying for this meeting.  Dr. Benny Beckum and I have been working to get these meetings launched and we believe God is going to use these meetings around the country to help preserve Old Time Religion to the next generation.  Dr. Beckum is in California and I will hold the meeting in his absence.  Pray for God to give me favor as we organize these local pastors in preparation for this National Conference.
I will come back to NC on Thursday and Friday to finish out the Revival at Liberty Baptist in Mooresville where Brother McNeese started this morning.
Well by now, you are probably tired just listening.  I am exhausted and I still have to pack.  So this brings you up to date.  I have a lot of pictures to post, but I have run out of steam.  I will work on those tomorrow in the motel in beautiful Pigeon Forge, TN.  Suffering for Jesus!
Well, that's all for now.  I will update after the Preacher's meeting on Tuesday and the Campmeeting on Wednesday.  I should have lots of pictures by then.  Thanks for your prayers as we get busy in 2008.  Pray for the Youth Rallies and the Conferences.  I hope to see you this week in some of these meetings

Update:  December 30, 2007  11:45 pm
I am sitting again in my favorite chair writing this update.  I just came home from spending all day at the Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville, NC with Pastor Eddie Graham.  We had a great day!  This is by far one of my favorite churches that I preach at each year.  They had a large part in helping us launch our VOH Youth Rallies back into full swing.  This morning was a great crowd and a good spirit with one lady coming forward to trust Christ!  That is always a good day!  Then tonight I preached on the grace of God and the altar was full.  What a good way to close out a great year.
I cannot tell you how much I feel at home with the good folks at Liberty.  They are one of our faithful supporters and Brother Eddie and his precious wife Traci are just like family.  Thank you Pastor and Congregation for the good day.  We love you and look forward to being back with you in just a few days.  We will be there for the 2nd Annual Regional Youth Rally on January 26.

Update:  December 25, 10:30 pm
I am once again sitting in my favorite chair at the close of Christmas Day.  While reflecting on the events of the day, my heart is warmed when I realize what has taken place in the last 16 hours.  My day began early with my rising to put the "ribs" on at around 6:00 am this morning.  I had only been in the bed for a few hours due to our late night fellowship with the family.
After rising for good, the work really began.  While the ribs did their thing, I prepared my special dessert a "Boston Fudge Cake."  It is the family favorite any time of the year.  Along with my wife, we cooked and prepared a different Christmas feast with BBQ ribs, baked potatoes, two different salads, Grilled BBQ bread, homemake oakmeal cookies (prepared by my daughter Marcey), Boston Fudge Cake, and mac & cheese, (for the kids).
Around lunch we all sat down and pigged out to everyone's satisfaction.  After the meal and clean up, we all gathered around the fire and I read the Christmas story.  We sang some Christmas favorites and prayed and there was such a sweet spirit that filled our den.  Then to our children's delight, we began to open the massive amount of bags, boxes and ribbons and bows filled with clothes, perfume, jewelry and lots of goodies for all the family.
I sit here and reflect on what I shared with the entire family today and I am sure you can identify with me.  We have been so blessed by the Lord this year.  He has done so much and we surely do not deserve it.  Our health, faith, family and friends are priceless commodities.  I have to say that this was one of my favorite Christmases in many years.  I was able to enjoy everything this year more than years past due to the fact that for the first Christmas in 7 years, I physically felt good.  Plus, my family was all here.  We had good food, a warm place to sleep, and I reflected again on this year's accomplishments in the ministry.  We saw approximately 200 saved!  So how could I not close out this day and this year and feel somewhat satisfied both within and without.  God is good and his blessings never end.
Where ever you are and whatever your circumstances are, take courage.  God is still in control.  He loves you and He cares about you.  I just want to praise Him!
So today has been good.  I am tired but refreshed.  I am at peace within and content without.  God is Good!  What a Merry Christmas!

Update:  December 23, 3:00 pm
I just came home from service and enjoyed a good Sunday meal with all my children and grand-children.  It is very rare that we all are together on Sundays.  This was surely a wonderful treat for me.
I enjoyed a great service with the folks at Canaan Baptist Church in Salisbury, North Carolina.  Pastor Bruce Graham has done such a wonderful job there and God has truly blessed him with a great congregation and a lovely family.  Today was my first visit in over 10 years.  The building was almost full and God showed up in a marvelous way! One lady was saved in the invitation and another lady came back to God with dozens of others in the altar getting help from the Lord.
I commend the folks at Canann and look forward to being back with them in the future.  Thank you Pastor Graham for letting us celebrate Christmas with you today and thank you God for another soul rescued from the flames of Hell!

Update:  December 20, 2007  12:55 P.M.
I am enjoying a few days at home with my family.  During Christmas, it is such a thrill to sit in front of the fire (and I have a real fire place, not one of those fake ones).  I traditionally make a couple of large containers of "chex mix" or for you rednecks "trash."  So imagine if you will a nice, warm fire, my favorite chair, a glass of coke, a hand full of "trash", some Christmas candy such as Hershey Kisses with almonds, the grandchildren playing, etc. and you now have a picture of my home.  Sounds welcoming, doesn't it?
Also I am enjoying some late season Whitetail hunting with my son and some other friends.  We have land in Eastern North Carolina as well as Southeastern Virginia.  I was in Virginia on Monday and Tuesday of this week (17th & 18th).  Tuesday morning it was a crisp 13 degrees with snow on the ground.  As I sat 20 feet up in a tripod stand overlooking a 50 acre cutover eating chocolate cookies, I enjoyed the beauty of God's creation and the friendship of young Matt McGee.  We talked and shared good times and hoped to bag a deer, but no such luck this time.
A good trip, good food, beautiful scenery, family, friends, freedom, the outdoors, Christmas, grandchildren, snow, icy trees in the sunrise, four wheelers, four wheel drive pick-ups, camoflauge, hand warmers, Shoneys, a cabin in the valley, sleeping bags, old videos, Gospel music, hunting buddies, deer, turkeys, cows, crows, rabbits, squirrels, and so on are pictures in my mind as I write this update.  Life is good and God is so great!  I can not believe that I get to be a part of it all.  Envious?  Come on and go with me.  There is room for you.  Hop in the truck and grab a snickers bar.  Let's go!
Hope you have a good Christmas.  Talk to you all soon!

Update:  December 10, 2007    10:30 P.M.
I am now sitting at home in my favorite chair for the first time in 10 days.  I just came in today from Eastern North Carolina.  Yesterday, I was with Brother Craig Cox and the good folks at the Sonrise Baptist Church in Southport, North Carolina for both Sunday services.  God met with us in a special way.  Brother Cox has been there for about 1 year.  The church is in a great location with lots of growth potential.  His people seem to be  hungry and they love preaching.  I am looking forward to being back with them in Revival in November, 2008.  Thanks Brother Cox and Sonrise Family for the good day!

Update:  December 8,  2007     9:30 P.M.
I am sitting in a home belonging to the Bible Baptist Church in Supply, North Carolina.  We just finished a week of meetings last night.  We came here to do a Church Training Seminar and help Pastor Chris and his folks get all excited about serving God.  The week was adverstised as a "Revival of Ministry" and truly it was.
Folks were helped as we went through nearly 28 pages of notes and instructions on Evangelism, Leadership Training, Sunday School, etc.  We heard testimonies last night about how people were helped and how they were challenged to make decisions to serve God more faithfully.  Also God put His stamp of approval with two young adults Andrew and Tiffany giving their hearts to the Lord in the invitation!
I can not express the gratitude I have for all the people of Bible Baptist and I can not thank them enough for their friendship, love and generousity to this preacher and this ministry.  My prayers are with them that the days ahead will be their best.  God Bless!
